SBS 2008 Peachtree Quantum error:
Peachtree is unable to connect to its database, Pervasive, on computer (SERVERNAME).
Make sure the computer is logged in or that the database service is running. Also
make sure the firewall is set to allow Peachtree and Pervasive to run. Click Help for
more information. Click Retry to attempt to connect again.
Verified Solution 12-31-2012:
On Peachtree server running pervasive and holding Peachtree data files:
Go to Start, Control Panel, Network and Sharing Center,
Windows firewall, Allow a Program or Feature Through Windows Firewall,
Beside Pervasive Engine, Click the check boxes under Domain, Home/Work (Private),
and Public. On client, retry connection, and Peachtree runs normally.
In this care the error message actually described the problem - the firewall!
A weird issue is when the windows firewall service is ended on the server, all
shares are inaccessible, making firewall troubleshooting difficult.
